On May 12th 2025, Captain Jack stepped onto the platform for his first-ever powerlifting competition at the Nottingham Strong Open, a WRPF qualifier event.
After months of disciplined training with Brentford Barbell Club, he came in calm, focused, and ready to test himself against some of the strongest lifters in the region. This meet marked his official qualification path toward future national events, and he delivered exactly what we expected: intensity, control, and precision on every lift.
He hit a solid full-power total across squat, bench, and deadlift, laying the foundation for everything that followed. More than numbers, it was about composure, learning the flow of commands, timing, and the mental side of competition.
Since that debut, Captain Jack has gone on to chase new goals, refine his technique, and grow into one of the team’s most consistent lifters. His journey is a prime example of what Brentford Barbell Club is built on, discipline, progress, and strength through experience.
